New roles reflect distributor's pro-active approach to sales
 

Specialist distributor Switchtec has made two appointments in its sales department that will enable the company to increase its focus in its target areas, develop its customer base, and increase sales.

The first person to be employed at Switchtec by managing director Alan Lester some 19 years ago, Christine Boulton-Beattie has been promoted to business development manager. Previously sales office manager for Switchtec, Boulton-Beattie’s new role is to research potential new clients and liase with sales managers to develop relationships with those companies.

Additionally, Boulton-Beattie is spearheading the development of the company’s direct mail strategy, aimed at increasing customer awareness of Switchtec’s latest product lines. She has a CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

Returning to the company after a spell away, Tim Griffiths has been appointed as sales office manager. Griffiths was an area sales engineer with GE Power Controls having previously worked at Switchtec for over nine years in a variety of roles, initially as a storeman and working his way up to become area sales manager.

As sales office manager, Griffiths is responsible for internal sales, liasing with field sales managers, stock control and warehousing. Qualified and able to provide technical advice, Griffiths has a BTec in electrical engineering.
