Meeting the ever-increasing need for a safety in the workplace, Sirena’s ‘traffic light’ beacons from Switchtec also help improve procedure and efficiency.  Aimed at industrial users, the beacons are designed for use in a wide range of applications including industrial traffic control, fork lift truck access, loading bays, status indication of production/manufacturing processes, and queue control. 

With the expansion of Industrial warehousing comes the need for control of vehicle and human access in areas of high – and potentially dangerous - traffic movement such as doorways, barriers, and automatic doors.  For example in warehouses with freezer compartments where a door must remain closed when not in use.  Another application is in vehicle loading bays where a vehicle reverses up to a delivery door, the driver can tell which bays are in operation, and when reversing how close they are to the door by the changing colour of the traffic light.

The beacons are available in three sizes, small 60mm lens, medium 90mm lens and large 120mm lens, meeting the needs of virtually every possible industrial application.  As standard the Sirena traffic lights are available in red, green, amber, clear/white, blue and yellow.

As applications for the traffic lights can be very varied, Sirena has made the products available using three different light sources.  These are, filament bulbs in 5, 10 and 25 Watts, ultra bright xenon (1 and 6 Joules) and finally, using Sirena’s own LED bulb technology the units can be fitted with replacement LED ‘bulbs’ or alternatively supplied fitted with Integrated LEDs.

Exhibiting versatility, the units are available with flashing and continuous lights, they can be supplied with one, two or three lenses, and with an optional integrated buzzer.  Rated at IP55 (IP65 for integrated LED versions), the traffic lights can be used in outdoor applications.

As the majority of applications for the traffic lights will be external ‘stand alone’, Sirena has produced a miniature, status version, measuring only 75 x 28mm that is designed to be mounted internally on a control panel.  This miniature ‘mimic’ device reflects the status of the beacon, giving the controller quick, easy and safe indication of the external traffic light.

Sirena has invested heavily in this range of products to produce a series of industrial traffic lights that is larger and more comprehensive than others on the market.  With the availability of different sizes, colours, light output, and buzzer, the options available to the customer are much greater than from competitors.  Not a ‘me too’ product, Sirena has used its vast experience in manufacturing high quality beacons, sounders and LED products to produce these traffic light systems.
